Harmonizing Destiny with Divine Intervention

(Author’s Personal Testimonies)

Chapter 6
(of my book titled : 'How to discover your divine destiny and total breakthroughs')

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way... None of his steps shall slide. Ps 37:23, 31

In the next chapter, I will begin the process of helping you to discover your divine destiny, understanding your make up, the real work God designed you to do, your best-fit-in-life, your career, niche and your divine assignment. At this point, I deem it necessary to x-ray my past life and describe for you how God divinely led me to my divine assignment. Let me synchronize my divine destiny with God’s intervention in my life to teach you some lesson here. Show me a man on the path of destiny? He is a man who is never confused. A man who can work from morning till night without remembering food or getting tired, why? Because he loves what he’s doing. His heart burns with passion and inner peace.

LIFE IN SECONDARY SCHOOL
There are three major events in my secondary school that influenced my destiny greatly. These events are how I completed my secondary school education with university requirements to study engineering in the University, how God used my failure in English Language at first attempt to prepare me for my divine assignment, and, how God connected me to teaching job in a secondary school as soon as I completed my secondary school education. Now let me take them one after the other for your delight.

HOW GOD ORDERED MY STEP TO ENGINEERING PROFESSION
In those days, there was nothing like education or guardian counseling in schools. I was in class three and I needed to choose nine subjects, which I would study for the next three years and write an external examination. There was no congruency among the subjects I chose. Worst still, we were the first set of the new school. What do you expect? But God who foreknew my future even before I was born showed up even without my understanding. Understanding in the sense that I grew up in a story building owned by my father, which I electrified. I could remember vividly in my primary school days, how I used to join dry cell batteries together in a self-constructed casing, run wires through the staircase, and lit up a substantial  part of  the building walkway with 2.5 dc bulbs fixed into an improvised 60 watts electric bulb. I also remembered that in my primary school days, I learnt and mastered the act of repairing bicycle, in a shop located opposite our home. I did this by just familiarizing myself with the mechanic, who happens to be a tenant to my father.

Now, How did God direct my path to engineering from secondary school? God, in His permissive will, allowed the devil to send somebody to steal my Geography notebook when I was in class three. This happened barely two weeks to our promotion exams and I needed to do something fast. In our Geography class, we’ve completed 60-leave notebook, whereas, Physics students had not used more than 10-leave of the 60-leave notebook. This made me to drop Geography and pick up Physics. This was a divine intervention. In my final year in secondary school, I remember, we students of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, used to call ourselves ‘Biochemphists’. Frankly speaking, I did all these without my understanding, but God was conscious of my future.

I FAILED ENGLISH IN MY FIRST ATTEMPT
Failure is success in disguise. Failure is the walkway to breakthroughs. Show me a man who never fail, then he must be a man who is yet to succeed. God saw before hand that He designed me to be a prolific writer and a public speaker. He needed to prepare me specially for this even from my secondary school.  In those  days,  honestly, I didn’t believe that I needed to prepare specially for English language exams. I had the same feelings for Yoruba language exams, my dialect. It soon dawned on me, at the end of my secondary school final exams, when my result was released. I had the best result in my class. Good news for me indeed, but something was missing. I had distinctions and credits in six subjects including Chemistry, mathematics and the Physics that God chose for me. But the chocking news was that I had F9 in English language. In my country, that is the way to express yourself when you fail a subject in secondary school final exams. Deep in my heart, I knew I did not prepare at all, for the English language exams, so the examiner was right in giving me F9. Some lazy candidates are fond of blaming examiners for their own failure. To me I believe most times they are assessed appropriately.

MY TEACHING LIFE IN A SECONDARY SCHOOL
Mention must be made of how God shaped me for my divine assignment immediately I completed my secondary education. I was residing in a Local Government headquarters. Not up to ten days after I went to check my result at school, one afternoon, my ex-principal saw me and said: “Moses, one gentleman is waiting for you at the local education schools’ board ” This was how I met the man who happened to be the principal of a secondary school. He gave me teaching employment at once. I got this teaching job on a platter of Gold. No sweat, because the Physics God gave me made room for me and connected me to the principal of that school.

HOW I RECTIFIED MY ENGLISH LANGUAGE GRADE
Another thing that is worth mentioning during my teaching day was how I rectified my English Language grade. Dear reader, I need to tell you all these for you to be fully convinced that it is not by accident that you are reading this book, it is designed by God to put you on your path of destiny. I bet you, you can’t read this book and remain the same. Many are looking for the opportunity you have right now, and they don’t have it.

The secondary school I was called to teach in was only three years old, so I was given the responsibility of teaching mathematics in classes one and two, and Chemistry - class three. During this period, Ghanaians were in Nigeria because of the economic recession in their country. Two Ghanaians graduates were in that school, one specialized in English language. I’m convinced; Nigerians have regard for Ghanaian’s academic system. So, I engaged in serious coaching with one of the Ghanaians who specialized in English language, and I soon sat for the English exams. However, due to lack of funds coupled with the sudden change of currency  notes  in  Nigeria,  which took place within one week during the Buhari/Idiagbon regime, I could only enrolled for English Language.

So after writing the exams and I was convinced I would have distinction, friends came around me and dashed my hope by saying that since I enrolled for only English language, that the exams body will fail me even if I passed since they knew I needed a pass in the subject. Why am I sharing this with you? This evil report from trusted friends or “son of belial” made me to enroll for the same English language with my own students, whom I’ve been teaching from class three to class five. I mean students who held me in high esteem. What a shame or mockery from the pit of hell and Satan! Beloved, I removed shame and enrolled along with my students, but God was with me as He was with Joseph. Even when the result of the G.C.E came, and I went to check it at the Local Education School Board, and I saw credit against my name, my acquaintances still told me that the result slip would not be sent to me by the Exams body. At about two months to the final exams of the students I was teaching, news got to my students that I, their teacher, would be writing exams along side with them. This was a little difficult to deny, however, I was managing the rumour, which I knew was real. Praise God, less than a week to my students exams which Satan has put in place to mock me, the school principal went to the Divisional Post Office,  and  came  with  some  mails. To God be the glory, my English language result slip was there with credit grade duly awarded.

My students and some mocking teachers were then surprised that I no longer join my students to write the exams. Beloved, when you know what you want, be focused, be humble, and go to any length to get it. People may talk. Let them say what they like; you are only answerable to your Creator.

WRONG CHOICE OF COLLEGE
My admission slip for University to study mining Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria, came to me in Lagos, after abandoning my three years teaching job. Within the next one week, I also got admission slip to study Electrical/Electrical Engineering at Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, in Nigeria. If you were in my shoes, which would you have chosen? As a Nigerian, and one who did not know much about the influence of divine destiny in one’s life, the choice of University seems better and divine than Polytechnic education. In Nigeria, as at that time, I was made to understand that if one passes through Polytechnic education, he would never be equal to his University counterpart or attain higher degrees. Not nowadays, that mere acquisition of a one – year Postgraduate diploma will match you with a first-degree holder. As at that time, the only thing I knew about polytechnic was that it was economical since you  can  work  for  sometime  after completing your first two years of study. In my quest to make the right choice, I ran into an acclaimed prophet, who did not bother to go into spirit or seeking the face of God before recommending the University option for me, which I accepted with euphoria. But judging from my passions signaled by my youthful inclination to building electricity, the Polytechnic choice would have been the one designed by God for me to easily fulfill my destiny.

LIFE IN THE UNIVERSITY
I attended the same University for my Bachelor and Master’s degree. I self thrust myself into the university for my first degree. What do I mean by this? What else do you expect me to say when somebody was on admission without sponsors or guardian! That is why I find it difficult to agree with anybody who says it was because there was nobody to train him that he failed to acquire higher education.  Thrust yourself into the institution first, and see whether God who started that good thing in your life will not be faithful enough to complete it. Who do you think is El-shaddai? Who made a woman to carry a fellow human being for nine months and deliver her like Hebrew woman?

My Destiny began to speak as soon as I started learning in the university. I was there to study Mining Engineering, but Elshadai who created me, was attracting me to my passion. And what was it? Electronics, which I rejected  due  to my ego, pride and mis-information. How did this manifest? Each time I went to the University library to read, I will go to the bookshelves to pick books on Mining, and also go to Electronics shelves to select books on Electronics, especially the practical aspect. This natural attraction to electronics was beyond my understanding. Sometimes, during vacation, I used to go to electronics maintenance shops to watch them do repairs. My motivation was physics. Remember, this was the subject that God chose for me while in secondary school when my geography notebook was stolen. It didn’t take long before I knew how to repair most domestic electronics, and began to make money from it. Now, laugh this off! In my second year in the university, there was a day in the hostel that I gave a pompous second year Physics-Electronics student, an Analog Meter to zero in the resistance mode. He could not do it, so he left shamefully. I am not saying this to praise myself but to let you know the power of passion and destiny.

DESTINY INFLUENCE ON MY MASTER’S DEGREE
God knew that my divine assignment would involve studying, meditating, documenting and writing. Right from my secondary school I knew I love reading. So to develop my analytical skill, God had to arrange for me to do masters in Environmental Engineering even after ten years of leaving the University. Needless to mention he showed  me  so  much  favour  to make this happen – from expediting the admission, to finances, accommodation and even project defense. Now take this! Less than a week I was to defend my master’s project, God knew that the professor who was appointed as the Postgraduate representative for my master’s degree defense would be an obstacle; therefore He prevented him from attending my defense. He bowed out on his own. Before he withdrew on his own accord, the lecturers in my department were feeling for me that the choice of the professor might mar my being awarded the master’s degree. God took him out of my way, somebody else replaced him, and I defended my project and passed with distinction.

Before another substitute was made by the school of postgraduate studies, my colleague that we defended the same day called me on phone while I was in warri. He told me the situation on ground concerning my defense. He asked me to rush down to the University at once to sort things out fast. I tell you, I received his phone call while I was in a church service, and I couldn’t complete that service. I left church immediately, and I became restless. I thought my world had come to a sudden end. As I was running carelessly to take a cab, I didn’t look well, so I hit my head hard against an A/C protector. My head became swollen. I could’ve avoided this accident if I was in a good mood. I was reacting carnally in far away Warri, not knowing that it was God angels that were working things out for me at school to bring me to the expected end – holding a master’s degree.

So when anything strange is happening to you, discern first to know where God is, before you begin to pray against demon. As a masters degree holder in Engineering and a researcher, I discovered that when your supervisor supervised your work at this level, when you scale through you automatically become a supervisor too. Also, as master’s degree student, you must question anything you put down, put yourself in place of the professors, and the external examiner, and criticize your work closely. You must be able to cover up any lie you established in your work, and substantiate every detail you put down.

LIFE AFTER SCHOOL
After attaining my university’ degrees, I have worked in several companies as engineer, and as supervisor in the Nigerian oil sector. However, I would like to say that in all my working years in the secular world, there has been a natural inclination or fondness of my life to electronics. I discovered that I most times by design found myself in electronics environment, whether sales or maintenance. Whenever this scenario repeated itself, I used to question God why? This occurrence or disturbance is so real that even as I am writing this book, I knew that the right course I ought to have studied in the University several years back should have been the Electrical / Electronics Engineering option which  I discovered that most of the favour I’ve had after school came from electronics.

I believed God put me through this because he wants me to teach my generation on how to recognize the path to their destiny and follow it zealously and passionately. The natural drift to electronics was so severe that at a point, I raised two deliverance prayer points. These prayers were: Any evil power attaching my life to electronics, wherever you are, fall down and die, in the name of Jesus, and; You my blessings attached to electronics manifest by fire, in the name of Jesus. These two prayers became relevant because the more I ran away from anything that has to do with electronics, the more I got attracted to the electronics. But I tell you, but for tarrying in electronics domain, I would not have received my casted vision and mission, which heaven gave me to add value to your life this moment.

Because of my experience here, I’ve devoted a whole chapter in this book, to how you can identify and unlock yourself from situations and persons. Some of the things that happen to you in life are for your good. Beloved, there is a place God want you to wait for Him, before He will roll out your personal vision. Until you receive your personal vision, which comes with convictions of peace, satisfaction, self-esteem, passion, success and life of significance, life is meaningless. Whatever you do in life, no matter how stinkingly rich you are, in the eyes of God you are filthy, poorer and more useless than a church rat. Before I received the call into the ministry that revealed my shape, I was initially trained in the vineyard of a very popular deliverance ministry in Port Harcourt. At God’s appointed time, while I tarried in what I prefer to call the electronics domain, God sent somebody to me who recommended to me, the person who turned out to be my outstanding mentor and coach in ministry, whom I served whole heartedly. During this period of serving in this ministry, God gave me the spirit of wisdom and revelation, then I receive my life vision.

Jesus commanded Peter to stop fishing and that He would make him ‘fishers of men’. In the same fashion, Jesus told me through the Holy Spirit, that I should stop mining minerals. He said He would make me ‘miners of men’. Remember Jesus was described as Rock with capital R and Peter was described as rock with small r.

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Matt 16:18

And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 1 Cor 10:4

God revealed to me that minerals are of great values and in great demand. God told me that until gold is discovered, mined from the earth crust, and treated, it is of no value. But here is Gold, after treatment becomes the delight of all people because every light that falls on it is reflected to the eyes of the on lookers. This makes gold to be expensive, so are other minerals including silicon, which is used to make semi-conductors, the main substance for building electronics gadgets. Remember electronics is leading in the world markets. God wants you to be leader too. He wants you to be celebrated by all.

God told me that the way gold metamorphosed from worthlessness to become priceless so also He wants me to bring men from their undiscovered state of wretchedness to the state of success and significance. So God told me he has given me wisdom to help people discover their destiny so as to become significant, be leaders in the field he has chosen for them, and affect their generation.. The wisdom for me to pursue this assignment came from God, but manifested in the electronics’ domain. Let me say this without fear; those in electronics profession have unusual intelligence. For the record, most people that excel in pastoring work with large congregation to their credit could be traced to having electronics or electrical as their profession before receiving their calling.

God also told me that, a man that has not received Christ is like a mineral that has not been mined. This man has not discovered his gifts and purpose in life. A mined mineral is equivalent to a man that is born again but has not been purified by the word of God. Now, a processed or treated mineral is equivalent to a man that is in the school of the Holy Spirit, doing God’s will, and above all who have discovered his shape for ministry and is on the journey to success and significance.

This means that God uses your profession and experience to explain your divine assignment to you.  Begin to do something so that God can explain your divine assignment to you earlier, and you become the delight of all eyes. Henceforth, live your life by design not by default. Only your gifts can announce you and bring honour to you. People respect you because of what you carry. You’ve been carrying this pregnancy for too long, it is time for you deliver your baby – success, fulfillment, inner peace, fruitfulness, and life everlasting.

Now receive your training and mentoring on how to discover your divine destiny in the next chapter.
